Corporate Finance and Investment Banking Bootcamp Overview
The Institute for Finance's Introduction to Corporate Finance and Investment Banking program is a 2-day course that introduces you to the basic analytical skills required in investment banking and related areas of corporate finance. The class meets approximately six hours per day each on Saturday, November 6th and Sunday, November 7th. The course will be held on the campus of Bentley University and is designed for students targeting a job or internship search in the areas of corporate finance and investment banking.
The course is designed to be a practical introduction to corporate finance and investment banking. That is to say, you will learn how things are really done on the job, and not just the theory that is taught at most academic institutions. The course begins with a discussion of investment banking and other areas of finance, including private equity and hedge funds. The bulk of the course is dedicated to teaching the two most important skills in investment banking and applied corporate finance: valuation and financial modeling. The course concludes with a detailed discuss of recruiting, interviewing, resumes and other job search topics. Throughout the 2-day session, we place particular attention to how this course can aid you in your job search.
The class is geared towards students that are seeking careers in finance, including:
- Investment Banking
- Asset management
- Equity research (buy-side and sell-side)
