Frequently asked questions about course logistics...

Who is the instructor?

The instructor for the course is Andrew Gutmann, who is the Institute's founder and senior instructor. You can read more about Andrew's background here.

How much does this program cost?

The program costs $995 per student if registration is made prior to 2 weeks before the first class session. After that, the tuition is $1295 per student.

Where will the classes be located?

Classes are conveniently located in midtown Manhattan, within a short distance of both Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station.

We will send you an email with the exact class location approximately one week prior to your first class session.

What do I need to bring with me to each class?

You need to bring a laptop computer with Microsoft Excel. Also, don't forget your power cord. Since all investment banks use PCs, we do recommend that the computer be a PC. However, if you only have a MAC, that is perfectly fine.

Can I bring a Mac instead of PC?

Yes, while it is recommend that you bring a PC, a MAC is okay too.

How should I dress for the class?

We want you to be comfortable so please feel free to dress as you like. Most students tend to dress "business casual."

Can I make up a class if I miss one?

Yes, of course. We want you to get the most out of this program. If you have to miss a class for any reason, just let us know and we will work with you to reschedule you for the class session that you missed.

What do I receive when I take the course?

You will receive a binder with printed copies of all of the class presentations. You will also receive a CD-ROM containing all of the Excel models and worksheets used in class and the homework assignments and solutions.

Will there be homework?

Each week we will assign homework that should be completed for the following week. While homework is optional, it is very strongly recommended. The best way to learn most of the material that we cover in class is to work on it yourself. Therefore, we believe that homework is an integral part of the course.

Is the homework mandatory?

The homework will neither be collected nor graded, which is to say that it is optional. However, we do believe that you will get the most out of the course by completing the homework assignments.

Will there be any tests?

No, we do not make you take any tests or exams.

How do I register?

More information about registering is here. Online registration is coming soon but in the meantime, please call us at: 212-696-2510.
